Bringing Bitcoin to the mainstream audience is not an easy task, due to various reasons and misconceptions regarding digital currency. One thing most people like to do is play mindless games on their computer or a mobile device, and several Bitcoin-related games exist in that niche. FarmSatoshi is one of those games, which could be labelled as the “Farmville of Bitcoin”.
FarmSatoshi: Play A Farmville Clone
The concept of FarmSatoshi is very simple to explain. Players have to register for an account to start playing the game, which lets you run a farm. The main objective of this farm is to add animals to your barn, sell their produce, and use the money earned to upgrade your warehouse. So far, there is nothing out of the ordinary to this game.
When you play the FarmSatoshi game, the graphics are decent, even though there is hardly any in-game animation to speak of. All of the actions are completed by browsing through informative menu’s and substructures, without ever seeing anything “happening” on your screen. At this point, it is a bit unclear whether or not the game will receive a graphical upgrade over the next few months.
That being said, navigating through the menu’s itself is quite easy, as there is no clutter or overload of information to speak. Levelling up your farm is easy, as the goals are pre-determined and visible for everyone to see. There is no such thing as collecting experience or anything like that, which is a nice change of pace.
FarmSatoshi is a rather intuitive game and is quite easy to pick up for young and old. Granted, it does not involve too much thinking, which could make this game quite addictive for most players. There is no real need to check up on your produce that often, even though your animals are on a certain “life timer”. If that timer expires, you will still have the option to collect all produce before the dead animal is removed from your farm.

All of your earnings in this game are paid out in small amounts of Satoshi. Hence the game is called “FarmSatoshi”. You can look at this game as a sort of “interactive version” of a regular Bitcoin faucet, as players can claim a small bonus between 10 & 100 Satoshi every 8 hours. Plus, there is also an option to “loan” Satoshi’s from the bank, which you will then have to repay with a small interest. There is no time restriction on paying back this fund though.
Withdrawing Satoshi from your FarmSatoshi account is possible, and it can be sent to either your Xapo Bitcoin wallet address – by linking your account or to a regular Bitcoin wallet address. Do keep in mind it is not possible to withdraw funds while you have an active “loan” on your account.
Whether or not FarmSatoshi will be a great way to bring Bitcoin to a mainstream audience remains to be seen, but we can only applaud the effort for now. People like to game on whatever device they are using at that time, and if Bitcoin can be integrated into that gaming experience, all the better.
